Welcome to Basin & Range Outdoors

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat. ~Theodore Roosevelt

Basin & Range Outdoors was created to share the adventures experienced by two brothers in the American West. From the highest alpine terrains to the lowest sonoran deserts we will chronicle the pain and triumph that accompanies all of our outdoor pursuits.

There will be no high-fence hunts, no fly fishing lodges, no streamside caviar and wine breaks. Instead, you can expect cold nights sleeping in the dirt, flat tires on old trucks, and big dreams realized on small budgets. With Basin & Range Outdoors you will find useful reviews of hunting and fly fishing products, techniques, locations, and a general review of our outdoor expeditions on public land.

Basin & Range Scouting Services

BASIN and RANGE SCOUTING SERVICES
There is nothing more important to being a successful hunter in Arizona than preseason scouting. The backcountry in this state is brutal and unforgiving. Without spending time in the field before your hunt, your chances of a successful hunt decline dramatically. This is a fact that most serious hunters understand. Unfortunately, for many of us; work, family, and life in general gets in the way of us spending the time scouting that we know is so important. This is especially true for Non-Resident (NR) hunters. Don't spend the first few days of your hunt driving aimlessly around your unit trying to figure out where to start. If you are not a resident of Arizona and have drawn or purchased a Coues Deer, Mule Deer, Bear or Javelina tag contact Basin & Range Scouting Service to give your hunt a jump start.

Basin & Range Scouting Service (BRSS) was started by a group of Do-it-Yourselfers... for Do-it-Yourselfers. Our typical client doesn't need a guide to carry his gun, gut his game, or cook his dinner. They just need a little direction so that the precious time they have in the field is spent as productively as possible.

(BRSS) provides scouting services for the following Arizona GMU's: 23, 24A, 24B, 32, 34A, 37A, 37B.

The BRSS Scouting Package includes the following:
1) 8 hours of "In-Field" Scouting and Glassing
2) Digiscope photos of game seen during scouting
3) Photographs of the area scouted and any sign
4) 3 game cameras will be set, for one month (30 days), in different locations in your unit with photos provided weekly. (game cameras will be removed 7 days prior to your hunt)
5) A full Scouting Report will be provided which is bound and in full color. This report will include a general overview of the unit, notes and photos from the day of "In-Field" scouting, USGS topographic maps with coordinates of game cameras, tanks, roads, trails, and scouted areas. All game camera photos printed and organized by date.
7) Also included in your Scouting Report will be the address and phone numbers for the nearest Ranger    Station, Hospital, RV Park or Camping Area, Taxidermist, Meat Processor, Sheriffs Department, ect.
6) You will be provided all contact information for the BRSS representative responsible for scouting your unit and are free to contact them any time to discuss the hunt or ask questions.

BRSS Scouting Package Price: $425.00

You can rest assured that BRSS will not scout the same area for different clients in the same year and will not allow any other hunter to view any of the details of your Scouting Report.
